2017: The best year in music?

2017 has been one of the greatest years in music in a long time from triumphant returns from Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Stormzy, Giggs, Kendrick Lamar and Jay Z, Big KRIT, and the phenomenal album from Chris Brown. Whilst most artists came back glorious after a long spell off, some artists proved 2017 was not the year for them, like Eminem whose album Revival is still splitting fans whether it is classic Eminem or if he is washed up.

Jeezy is back, its snowman season! The title of his 8th studio album is titles “Pressure” and when you’re this long into your career with such a huge fanbase, the question really is, does Jeezy face pressure? His last album Trap or die 3 came out last year in October so what has Jeezy got to show for the 14 months since his last album.

Usually, a G-Eazy album is something I wouldn’t find myself looking forward to hearing, however with the successful single rollouts with the A$AP Rocky and Cardi B featured “No Limits” single and the recently released “Him and I” Featuring Halsey, the singles released have been getting a lot of play from myself, leading to the anticipation of this album.

NERD No_One Ever Really Dies Album Review, are they back to there best?

NERD have been a longstanding necessity in Hip-Hop. The sound of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shay Haley are always something to be hyped. From the earlier sounds like “Rockstar” in 2001 to the latest single “Lemonade” featuring the long-awaited Rihanna and Pharrell collaboration we have waited for, NERD is always something needed by the culture of music. It has been 7 years since we have heard a full NERD project, with Pharrell growing into one of the biggest artists in the world, including creating a single which is due to be released in 100 years, how much time does Pharrell have for NERD now?

Will the Real Slim Shady, Please Stand Up?

As 2017 comes to close, we reflect on what has possibly the best year in some time for music. We are in the final weeks of December and arguably the biggest hip-hop album has dropped.

Eminem Revival was released on 15th December, making sure it will be on your kids Christmas list this year (if they still do lists) so, is the album worth the listen?

Short answer, yes. Eminem has given plenty of great music of the years, so I feel he always deserve to be listened too, however, the replay value and content of some of the songs are not up to Eminem’s level.
