Bruno Mars X Cardi B – Finesse (Single/Video Review)

Bruno Mars has to be one of the most talented musicians in recent years, everything he has touched has been phenomenal. He can sing, dance and perform and knows how to put on a good show. His ear for talent is phenomenal, featuring the beautiful Zendaya in his last music video and now teaming up with the Queen of music, Cardi B.

I will admit, I was not the biggest fan of Cardi B, but she has drawn my attention and now whenever I hear her on a verse, its usually the standout feature. Now Bruno Mars has recognised her talent and her fun delivery and tone perfectly fits with the single “Finesse” from the Bruno Mars album “24K Magic” which was a phenomenal album, and I had the pleasure of seeing him live last year.
The single “Finesse” already is a fun song and a song to make you move your feet, so what did Cardi B add to the single? Well, a lot. Cardi B energy on the song makes the single livelier and more fun (if that’s even possible) and you can feel the joy the two must have had when they went to film the video. From Cardi B making you go “HEYYYYYYYYY” a couple of times in the first verse, both artists are great at working the listener and making them want to hit the repeat button again. Much like his last single "Versace on the Floor"

Bruno Mars does not change from the original single, but he does not need to as the original was already near perfect, with Cardi B making this perfect.
The video for the single has been anticipated since it was announced earlier this week they are working together, and from the tweets exchange, you could tell the visuals was going to be huge. The video pays homage to the 1990-1994 TV series “In Living Color” which is Bruno Mars favourite TV show as a kid and he pays respect perfectly. From the costume design to the visual stage and dance moves, the video perfectly fits with the song and makes it even more fun of a single. Probably why it has had 2million views within the first day!
My only negative of this single, why was it not released in time for New Years? This song would have been many New Years anthem! But nonetheless, you can not hate on the single, because it is so much fun and vibrant. The Bruno Mars and Cardi B collaboration was not the one we needed, but the one we now want more off! GIVE US MORE PLEASE!
