Well, since we seen Kendrick Lamar
video for “Love” hinting that he
would be involved in the new Marvel film “Black
Panther”, fans have been eagerly anticipating to hear his involvement. It
has since been revealed that Kendrick Lamar and Anthony Tiffith (Top Dawg) will
be producing the soundtrack and heavily involved with the soundtracks development.
The lead single for the film
features TDE’s R&B star SZA, who released her debut album “Control” last year and has been
continuing to grow into one of the biggest R&B stars of 2017, continuing
with the number 1 single “The Weekend”. With
TDE dynamic duo linking up again like they have on past songs “Doves in the Wind” how does the single
for the “Black Panther” film fair?
Shortly, phenomenal. The chemistry
between these two artists is apparent and they bounce off each other on this
single, with Kendrick delivering the first verse speaking on his love for a
woman and the relationships he is dealing with, and the love that is shared
with his woman, but the struggle. SZA on the chorus shines bright, like the star
she is singing “All the Stars” and then goes into the second verse continuing to
showcase her mesmerising vocal range.
SZA really delivers on this song
and you can tell that is why Kendrick Lamar knew he only needed to do one
verse, SZA can deliver by herself and drawers in the attention of the listeners
with her vocal range.
Kendrick Lamar hint in the "Love" Video |
TDE have delivered, as to be
expected. When have they disappointed? This pairing from Kendrick Lamar and SZA
has only got the listeners more hyped that this films soundtrack is going to be
Oscar worthy. Bravo TDE.
Be sure to catch "Black Panther" When it is released in cinemas February 16th!
